Rental agreement
Kritinet Rent a Car provides for car rental possibilities in Greece. The rental agreement is established on delivery of the car with the local employee.

One rental day is based on a period of 24 hours, from the start of the car rent. If the rented car is brought back later than the agreed time, an extra day can be charged.
Price calculation
Given prices are in euros and are guaranteed fixed prices. However, the given prices can be changed at all times without prior notice.
Insurances
The third party insurance from our rental partners generally covers at least 1 million euros, but in some cases it is even higher. This insurance is included in the price. The insurance depends on the local legal conditions and regards material damage and injuries. The all-risk insurance covers damage from accidents caused by the driver itself or damage that cannot be claimed from the third party. You do not have an own risk.
In case of an accident or damage, the renter is obliged to take care of the following things on the location of the accident:
+ Notify the rental company immediately.
+ Call the police if possible and have a report being made of the accident.
The all-risk insurance will not cover:
1 If the occurred damage is caused by violating general traffic rules.
2 If the occurred damage is caused because the driver was under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications.
3 If the renter has either lost or damaged the car keys.
4 Private possessions that were stolen from the car or have been damaged.
5 Costs resulting from the accident, such as overnight stays at hotels, phone costs etc. These are never covered.
The driver is responsible for damage caused by neglect or damage resulting from driving on dust and stone roads. In all of these cases, the driver is liable. Refunds are refused when the insurance company does not cover the initial damage on the spot. In that case, we assume neglect. The theft insurance for the car only concerns the theft of the car itself and not the objects in it.
Payment
After the reservation and down payment (20% of the total amount) to Kritinet Rent a Car, you will receive a confirmation of the paid rental package. General conditions apply to each rental agreement and are agreed upon by the renter and the car rental company on delivery of the car. The confirmation serves as a payment and reservation ticket and you need to hand it over to the car rental company at the delivery of the car.
Deposit
You do not have to leave a deposit.
Delivery of the car
You can pick up the car at the airports and ports of Heraklion and Chania, our office in Agia Pelagia, and at several hotels in the region of Chania, Rethymnon and Heraklion.
The rental contract is made on delivery of the car. Please read it carefully and keep a copy in the car. You do not need to check the car for possible damage and you do not need to write the possible damage in the contract, since you have an all-risk insurance without own risk. Should the car not meet your wishes or should you discover defects, please notify this directly at the delivery of the car or as soon you notice the defect !
For reparations on the car, you need the explicit permission of the local car rental company.
Categories
Reservations are confirmed only regarding the concerning car category. The types of cars are only meant as an example and indicate the size of the car. Naturally, we will do our best to deliver the preferred model.
Extras
Baby and children seats are available on request and are free of charge.
Fuel
Fuel costs are not included in the price. Local gas station conditions apply. The car is usually delivered with a full tank, but sometimes with a half full or quarter full tank. You bring the car back with the same gas level as you have received it.
Minimum age
The required minimum age for categories A (Small cars) is 21.
The required minimum age for categories B (Medium-sized cars) is 23.
The required minimum age for categories C until G (Family cars, Automatict, Jeep, Cabrio, Mini buses) is 25 years.
The driver must at least for 2 years in the possession of a driver's license class 3, class B (EU-norm). The driver's license must be handed over together with a passport or identification card.
One-way rent
This should be requested when making the reservation. You can ask for more information when you reserve the car.
Crossing borders
This is not possible with Kritinet Rent a Car.
Making a reservation for a car online...how does it work?
Step 1: Click reservation.
Now, you are in the reservation form! Here you can fill in all the data, such as the required model, from when you would like to have the car etc.
Step 2: Click send.
Step 3: Within several hours, you will receive a reservation confirmation with an invoice.
Step 4: You pay the downpayment (25% of the total amount). Later, you will also receive a confirmation of this first payment.
Step 5: You receive the car at the destination of your choice and you pay the remaining amount to the person delivering the car.
